Connection Drops and Possibly Odd Router events?!

Hi,

After having a connection that never dropped out, we seem to be losing connection at least once a day now.

The router lights do not go out, but all of the devices in the house (2 laptops and an xbox) lose connection at the same time.

I've been searching around online, but haven't found anything very useful yet.

I've had a look at our router stats (but they mean nothing to me!) Can anyone help me out here, do these look okay? We seem to have rather a lot of FECs errors, but from what I've read this isn't that concerning (and I've also read that the particularly large figure is possibly a bug).

I've also been looking at the Event Log (which I've never looked at until today - below). It seems a bit odd that there is lots for today, but then nothing since the 1st of January - can this be right?

There also some entries which seem to keep repeating - those  regarding upnp 'addportmapping' and those regarding firewall icmp check. Should I be worried about these entries?

I'd be really grateful if anyone has any explanation for these? It'd be very helpful to know whether I have a problem or not??? Thank you for any help anyone can give....

Tina

Re: Connection Drops and Possibly Odd Router events?!

John,

We lost the connection earlier this evening, and even though the lights were all still on on the Router, the only way to regain our connection seemed to be turning the router off and on (we did this at the plug, i'm not sure this is what we're meant to do!).

Are the events in my event log worrying at all? I'm scared by them!

Re: Connection Drops and Possibly Odd Router events?!

Could you try and explain to me what the port ones and the firewall ones mean to me? Just so I have some understanding?

Any idea why our disconnections might be occuring - once a day isn't that inconvenient but it shouldn't be like that obviously!
