Connection Keeps Dropping

Hello,

Over the past few days, maybe even over the last week my connection has been dropping out, each time my internet gets slower. I am hoping that a mod could reset my SnR, as my connection was running at 22Mb with no connection drops.

Currently my SnR is 15dB and I'm on a Fastpath profile.

Re: Connection Keeps Dropping

If your router is dropping connection then resetting your noise margin manually is pointless as you will be back in same position within a few days at most. You need to fix the problem of hub dropping connection and then hub should recover speed automatically

Are you using test socket with a new filter to eliminate your setup and internal wiring

Try quit line test dial 17070 option 2 should be quit and best with corded phone

Re: Connection Keeps Dropping

The router hasn't left the test socket since we put the router in, I've tried a new micro filter and the line is quiet as it should be. I did notice today that there was an Openreach van at an underground duct, I have no idea what they were doing though. The connection was fine for so long but I did have to restart the hub myself as Twitch streams were constantly buffering, until I restarted the router. It dropped not long after that and I assumed it would fix itself but it hasn't.

Re: Connection Keeps Dropping

Are there any problems here. http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/mso.php

Your noise margin will start to drop with speed increasing but your need a stable connection 24/7 for 3/5 days.  Will probably recover in a few stages but stable connection with no resets/drops in connection is very important

Re: Connection Keeps Dropping

There is no problems at all with my exchange.

Curious as to what Openreach were doing then.

Hopefully a mod can reset my SnR and then see what happens.

Is there any way for me to restart the connection if it becomes stale again and I get buffering on Twitch?

Re: Connection Keeps Dropping

Unless you have a stable connection for at least 3+ days your will not get noise margin reset. You need to find cause of drops in connection. If you can post your router stats showing a stable connection with 3+ days connection time then we can see if mods will help reset noise margin but if not stable then reset is pointless

Re: Connection Keeps Dropping

to start with please stop all manual resets of your router that is not helping your problem a manual reset is pointless as the noise margin will increase within hours unless the connection is stable

Re: Connection Keeps Dropping

Can a mod please reset my SnR?

My connection was solid for a week, I kept expecting it to reset and give me a faster speed but it hasn't until tonight and there was no change in my speed.

Re: Connection Keeps Dropping

if you had a stable connection for a week it's a pity you didn'y post the stats and ask for mods to reset noise margin  see if they will doo it now even though only 5min connection  if there is an underlying problem causing drops in conenction then you will be back to high noise margin and lower speed in no time

mods will post here
