Engineer been and gone, can't find any faults and says the line is syncing at nearly 3meg and the upload 448kbs.
May well be reporting that but as I said and he confirmed via his laptop connected directly to ethernet it's nowhere near that speed !
My upload speed is consistently under 100kbs, it's unusable in this state.
Frustration is compounded by the fact the help desk he phoned said my connection has been stable for 2 weeks !
That's total BS !
They also said my exchange was due to be upgraded to 21CN on the 1st march and I'm as well waiting until then to see if it helps any.
Can you confirm if this is the case and what difference it will make ?

try entering your phone number and post results remember delete number but leave exchange and cab http://dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome
due to your distance from the exchange upgrade to adsl2 will make little difference to your down speed if any but I would hope for about 100% increase in up speed
