Re: Connection problems for 6 months !

Hi @PaddyB

My connection has deteriorated and is now dropping constantly regardless of the high SNR.
There is obviously something physically wrong with this line, see anything from your end ?

Re: Connection problems for 6 months !

Phoned and reported fault, tests done and apparently there is a fault external to the property.
Waiting on a text to confirm engineer visit and instead I get

"Hello, BT here. Your service should be back up and running now. If you're still having any problems please reply to this message or call us on 0800800151 from a mobile its 03301234151. Thanks."

Guess I'm chasing my tail again !

Help appreciated, thanks.

Re: Connection problems for 6 months !

Spoiler

Hi @PaddyB

Engineer been and gone, can't find any faults and says the line is syncing at nearly 3meg and the upload 448kbs.

May well be reporting that but as I said and he confirmed via his laptop connected directly to ethernet it's nowhere near that speed !

My upload speed is consistently under 100kbs, it's unusable in this state.
Frustration is compounded by the fact the help desk he phoned said my connection has been stable for 2 weeks !

That's total BS !

They also said my exchange was due to be upgraded to 21CN on the 1st march and I'm as well waiting until then to see if it helps any.
Can you confirm if this is the case and what difference it will make ?

Cheers

Re: Connection problems for 6 months !

try entering your phone number and post results  remember delete number but leave exchange and cab  http://dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome

due to your distance from the exchange upgrade to adsl2 will make little difference to your down speed if any but I would hope for about 100% increase in up speed
