Connection to SKY+ on demand fails connecting to BT HH6

Hey

 

I've recently switched to BT Infinity, using BT home hub 6. Since then I've been unable to connect to Sky on demand.

 

It detects my SSID, accepts my password, but the eonnection to the router and on demand shows up as "failed"

 

Had PlusNet fibre before with no problems whatsoever

 

Anyone else had this issue? Seems odd.

Ok 

 

solution was 3 fold

 

1- separate the 2ghz and 5ghz frequenices

2- disable smart setup on the hub

3- manually enter the IP info on the sky box as per this post https://community.bt.com/t5/Connected-Devices-Other/BTHUB6-wireless-connection-to-Sky-on-demand-box/...

 

then reboot the the home hub

Glad you've found a way to get Sky box connected again. Shouldn't really have to be doing all this though, should we. Have given our Smart Hub a not so smart new name now!

Hub6 updated to the latest 2244 firmware last night. The Sky Box wasn't connected this morning even though I had put manual wifi settings into it in Oct to get On Demand to work.

 

I tried the wireless key on the off chance that the new firmware update might have fixed the connection problems and for the first time since the Oct firmware update that started the problem - it worked!

When my sister had issues with sky connecting. I set the router to a fixed wireless channel. Never had the problem again.

Thanks for the suggestion, if it disconnects again I'll try and find out how to fix the wireless channels. Currently on 6 and 36 but haven't been taking a great deal of notice to see when they change.

I'm not even getting an IP on my Sky box to connect directly 😞

 

Any ideas as this Smart Hub is not being that smart.

Assume you have a direct connection to the hub with an ethernet cable?
