Having the internet vanish on us and our network is getting a little too frequent. It seems everyday I'm having to hit "RESET" to get back online.
It is massively vexing to listen to the new BT advert extolling the virtues of the "Smart" new BT Homehub that is somehow intelligent enough to sense when it isn't online anymore and fixes the connection itself without the bill payer who is shelling out a hefty amount of money to BT every month having to press the reset button yet again.
Anyone else? Any ideas?
are using wireless or wired? if wireless are you sure it is loss of internet and not just loss of wireless conenction
can you go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and post 1-12
It is not a loss of wireless ... the wireless icon on all our devices (laptops/kindles etc) show active wi-fi, but when you look under information it says "No Internet Available" ... which is usually when one helpful child screams down the stairs "Dad, internet on the blink again, can you press 'reset' on the hub?" ... which always corrects the issue and helps the hub somehow find the internet again.
I take it that this is the old "turning it off and on again" trick.
you need to find the problem as the old 'off/on trick' is not good for your connection and will probably result in the DLM taking action on what it considers an unstable connection and increases noise margin and drops your speed
can you post the stats from your hub
