Contacts

Go to solution

How do i put a contact in a number of groups. Before the BT upgrade I was able to add a new contact and from a drop down box a list of my groups appeared and i could choose what one to put hem in. I could also edit a contact and take them out of one group - can't do that now.

Re: Contacts

To add a contact log onto your email account via a web browser and click on the Contacts button. This will open a list of your contacts.

Click on the "New" button at the top of the list of contacts and select "Add Contact".

This will bring up a contact box. Enter the details in the name fields.

When you want to enter the email address, place it in the box marked "Home" and tick the box "primary".

If it is not their "Home" address, use the smaller box marked "Home". This will give you a drop down box that you can select from.

Complete the form with as much or as little detail as you wish and click "save" at the top.

To add a contact to a group, you first have to have the contact in your list of contacts. Once it is there and you have a "Group" set up you simply drag and drop the contacts that you want from the contacts list into the "Group" or you can select the contact and use the "Add to Group" button on the menu bar above the "Contact Card"

To remove a contact from a Group you need to tick the box to the left of the contact then move your mouse to the right hand side and it will reveal a choice of options including one to delete the contact from the "Group".

Re: Contacts

I have added my new contact but there is no add to group button on the bar. There used to be before my mail was updated.

I see no way of dragging and dropping. When i click on the new entry it simply puts it into an email ready to complete and send.

To delete a contact  from my group there is no tick box and no way of removing the contact.

Have you tried clearing the history/cache and cookies on your browser?

What device are you using and which browser?

Have you tried a different browser?

Do not tick the box beside the contact just select/click on the contact and when you select the contact this menu bar should appear

Contacts Menu.PNG

Again do not tick the box , if you hover over the contact do you see a selection of buttons appear to the right of the contact?

I have cleared history. I use google chrome. I tried internet explorer but had  difficulties.

The bar you are showing does not appear.

I should have asked this before now. Are you using the BTMail email system or the BTYahoo system. If you are not sure, when you log onto your email if you look at the BT logo and you see Yahoo you are on the Yahoo system.
