Contract Start and End Dates for a package

Where can I find the start and end dates of the contract for a package on MyBT?

Go to MYBT and then orders and select the order for your package which will also say how long the contract is for then some simple arithmetic gives end date

Thanks for the advice. But the only option I can find is 'Track your Order' and when I click on it the message that comes back says that there are no active orders - does that mean that the contracts have ended for all of the BT packages that I use?

Are you getting to the right place? When you've logged in, hover on MyBT (top right) and the pop-up contains "Track your order". When I go there I can view orders back to 2014.

If yours doesn't contain a list of orders, is there a section at the bottom of the page where you can enter your order reference and postcode?

Thanks for the advice which I followed but all I get is the following message - I checked the bottom of the screen but there were no lists.

Hi @David21, if there is no info in there it would indicate that you don't have a minimum term contract at the moment. The value team don't appear to be too busy this evening if you call to discuss your renewal options.

Neil and the rest of the moderation team are very busy at present, but I can answer your questions.

"Minimum term contract" is commom parlance but it's a bit misleading in that the minimum term is a period within your contract, not a contract in itself. Generally, providers have standard prices for their products but, to attract or retain customers, will usually offer or agree to reduce them in exchange for the customer's agreement to commit to a designated minimum period, agreeing to pay a penalty if they cancel the contract before that period ends.

You can see it at work in advertising for new customers; offer prices are invariably below the standard ones, sometimes well blow. Most people get these prices at the outset but, in order to avoid paying the full whack, must be careful to contact the provider before the initial minimum period is up. (Providers should send reminders at an appropriate time but they are easy to miss.)

So you need to call BT to avoid an increase and agree a new minimum term, which will probably be 24 months at present. The best number for this is 0800 800 030.
