Countless drops HH4...miraculous fix

Good evening, my broadband went into melt down a week or so ago, drops every 0, 5, 10, 15 mins. Incidentally this coincided with some contractors working for BT reasonably near my property. However, without anything being done my connection seems to have stabilised in the last day or so although the speed is down a bit and the downstream noisemargin up ( 9db was 6db) I have an engineer coming on Monday but was thinking maybe I should cancel for the fear of a £129 charge. Should I sit it out and wait for the DLM to do its thing? Thanks in advance

Re: Countless drops HH4...miraculous fix

yes I would cancel and let the DLM do its job just keep an eye on the connections stability

Re: Countless drops HH4...miraculous fix

Thank you. Law of sod says the drops will start again when I cancel!
Will the DLM lower the noise margin or am I going to have to pester customer services!?

given time and a stable connections the DLM will reduce the noise margin automatically

Re: Countless drops HH4...miraculous fix

Ok, cheers. I'll keep my eye on everything and with a bit of luck all will be well. The engineer is due Monday morning so I'll wait until Sunday before cancelling just in case

Here we go again!!

Hi, posted yesterday about my broadband seemingly stabilising albeit with a high downstream noise margin. I was going to cancel the engineer but fortunately didn't. Openreach have been working over the road, not next to my cabinet and wondered could it be whatever they're on with that's causing my issues!? Here's a snapshot of what is happening

Re: Here we go again!!

Is there any noise on your phone calls? Dial 17070 and select option 2, there should be no noise between the announcements.

Re: Countless drops HH4...miraculous fix

Is that a with a corded phone, I don't have one. However, when the issues first started BT sent a line engineer "by accident" he found no fault with the line
