Credit refund

How many time do I have to complain before I actually get my refund. I switched from Bt to a new supplier at the end of July.I duely paid my bill as normal then waited for a final bill, which in turn put me in credit.

I waited 7 days for refund, nothing. I contacted BT and was told that a cheque will be sent to me within the next 10 days, again nothing! So I contact BT again and was told they "didn't know why a cheque had not been sent to me,that they would send me a payment within 5 Days". Yet still nothing!

Again I contact BT this afternoon, and was told they didn't know why I hadn't recieved my payment, they would refer me to the offline team, and gave me some stupid number for my records.

This is frustrating and more than annoying. Any help out there to resolve this?

Re: Credit refund

Seems somethings never change and BT poor service is one of them!   I, too, cancelled and moved to another provider for my phone and broadband - one with UK call centres.   BT took the DD even though they acknowledged the account was closed.  My bill said 'not to worry about the over payment as it would be credited on my next bill'.   What world are they living in?   I have spent hours with their on line chat - a complete and utter waste of time!  Each of the people that contacted me was pleasant and helpful and promised that within a couple of days the over charge would be in my account.   I have had a phone call again helpful and apologetic for the poor service and a promise of quick refund.   Still waiting.  I know that someone recently took a large company to the small claims court for a payment as they had wasted so much of his time.  He won!  I am thinking of doing the same time as I feel BT should compensate me for all my time trying to sort out their mistake.   Am starting to write on various other forums warning everyone that Bt are great at taking your cash but hopeless at returning it.

I am owed £29 - agreed by the many I have spoken to - but think £35 is not unreasonable - that works out at about 30p an hour for my time!
