Critical update for Bradband Desktop Help XP

Go to solution

Hi, I keep getting reminded to download update but no joy. My browser is Firefox but the update opens Internet Explorer. It then says another browser is running (it isn't) and to shut down. I do this by clicking 'shut down other browser' The download then continues but after a few minutes the message 'One or more componets could not be downloaded try again later' Grrrrr I have tried 10 times now? Is there a manual download to desktop I can use? Many Thanks

Log out of firefox, then click internet explorer, it will ask you if you want to make this your preferred browser or summat like that, click yes then download your update

Why bother making it your default browser - just fire up IE, download the update, close down IE. The next time you connect you will still be back with your preferred browser.

Many don't use the desktop help because of the issues it causes. You can do everything you need to do to the hub from its home page - 192.168.1.254

It certainly would.

I never installed it in the first place when I moved to BT broadband in Dec 2009.
