Customer with Dementia

I write on behalf of my mother to enquire if she is eligible to apply for the BT Basic package. Her phone package is option 1 but still costing £60 a month which is excessive

She is 86 years old and receives attendance allowance due to Alzheimer's dementia. She needs the telephone to contact us daily and vice versa only for reassurance, she has broadband for the router in order to connect the central heating system only. She has no computer.

I'd be grateful if you can let us know if my mother is eligible.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Customer with Dementia

This combined line rental and unlimited calls saver package at £21 might also be of interest, but note that it is BT phone only and does not allow BT broadband with it.

http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/52871/~/home-phone-saver-2018

If a customer opted for that saver phone only package from BT then if necessary they might still be able to add a cheap broadband service from another provider to that BT line? Not sure about that in that particular situation though.

Re: Customer with Dementia

BT Basic does allow Broadband and is totally different to the home phone service as this link shows http://btplc.com/Inclusion/ProductsAndServices/BTBasic/index.htm?s_cid=con_FURL_btbasic

Re: Customer with Dementia

@john46

I was just highlighting a possible alternative to BT Basic. If the customer didn't qualify for BT Basic or felt that unlimited anytime calls was more suitable then that could be something else to consider.

Re: Customer with Dementia

Thanks for your reply. Tried sending an email to the team, but kept being asked for the information I'd already supplied. Along with their bad spelling, I thought I would try this forum for any ideas.
