your down speed is set by the normal noise margin of 6db and when your line shows stable connection then DLM will reduce that to 3db and your connection speed will increase your speed is currently not capped as it was before when in banded profile you just need to make sure connection remains stable otherwise you won't get the 3db noise margin and therefore the boost in speed
the difference in down speed is minimal and if you can get a stable conenction bearing in mind it was an unstable conenction that got you into the banded profile then your noise margin will drop to 3db and your speed will increase and possibly better than current attainable as that is based on 6db
however your up speed is way to low and needs reset hence why I suggest going back to whoever reset your connection as I don't think it will clear itself
I’d agree with that, the downstream is more than adequate, the upstream however is the real primary concern.
1276 down to 440 seems a little bit drastic.
It’s BT’s line after all, we only rent and subscribe. It’s quite a funny setup though.
the ones missing are noise margin and stability - which probably correspond to the peaks and troughs
Current advertised percentages of downstream and upstream analytics from my SamKnows whitebox unit.
• Downstream throughput is currently showing as 60.9% of advertised
• Upstream throughput is currently showing as 30.5% of advertised
Corresponding packet loss occurred with the last line profile change.
Im not going to think about moving provider just yet, as I would really like to give BT a fair crack at putting things right.
If you could please try to improve my upload speed that would be great.
Thank you.
