Data connection

Go to solution
A few weeks ago I found I could not use my mobile data!! I have 500.mb/month but when away from home & I switch mobile data on..I get a message saying ' no network '...Can anyone tell me what has happened? I'm not using any of the data allowance I'm paying for & I'm pretty sick of not being able to go online unless I'm in a wifi cafe or at friends (Fon is a dead loss!!)
BT mobile online help said he'd reset it...but it hasn't made any difference. Have I suddenly got something unchecked??

Hi @judy1 very strange you can’t use your data even after you have turned mobile data on through the phone. What phone are you using?

Hi @judy1

if you are using an android phone please can you check the APN settings? Try setting these to EE’s presets if possible and give that a try. If you are using an iPhone, try resetting the network settings (you’ll need to re-enter your Wi-fi passwords).

If neither of these work and you have spoken to the mobile chat team, I can ask a moderator to try and help.

Hi @judy1

did you manage to check the APN settings?  For some reason from time to time they get mixed up can sometime block data.

If you can check, try the EE settings

Hi @judy1 It should look something like this; Name: Internet APN: everywhere Proxy: Not Required Port: Not Required Username: eesecure Password: secure Server: Not Required If you don't have thing like this, click + and create a new profile see if that helps

@judy1

BT Mobile is a MVNO (Don't own their own network), they use EE. BT Mobile do have their own settings but it has been known for them to get mixed up in the settings when an update has happened on the phone. The EE APN on some handsets allows wifi calling (not all) but I will include the link for all of  BT's settings, as you will see its almost the same!

Hi Dean
Thank you...I have changed the settings but I won't know until tomorrow when I am away from the BT wireless hub if it has 'done the trick'...let's hope it works! (Oh ye of little faith...I'm going to take my other mobile with me tomorrow just in case I've lost all my settings, ha, ha!)
