Desktop not connecting to BT router

Hello,

I have the new BT router and can access it from the laptop and other wireless items in my home.

I do however have it hardwired to my desktop but I cannot get it connected. When I run the disk and it comes to the 'connecting to your hub' page, it always comes back, not connected.

Any ides? The strange thing is that when I go to Internet explorer, it does connect for a minute before shutting down by itself.

Re: Desktop not connecting to BT router

I had similar problem with my laptop... was trying out the ethernet as there was some wifi problem on the router.  All i did was restart and then disable and enable the network card and it has worked fine.

Hope this helps.

Re: Desktop not connecting to BT router

ok,

I've uninstalled the disk.

I've just moved home and the internet worked hardwired to the router there ok.

How do I check the network cards? What should I be looking for?
