Different Router == Better speeds?

Hi,

I've been told if I switch to a Netgear Router from HHB5 I'll get better broadband speed - any truth in this?

Re: Different Router == Better speeds?

You might get 1 or 2 Mbps then again you might lose 1 or 2 Mbps. It is impossible to say and anybody who says you will get better speeds is just guessing.

Re: Different Router == Better speeds?

Some lines do perform better with routers that use different chipsets. Broadcom chipsets seem to be quite highly talked of.

You could always 'borrow' one from Amazon.

Re: Different Router == Better speeds?

As was pointed out to you on your previous thread

https://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Infinity-Speed-Connection/Line-monitoring-tools/td-p/1545441

the only sure way that you will be able to get better speeds on your line is to move your house nearer the cabinet.
