Directly fed means you are not attached to any local green cabinet, your are directly fed from the exchange itself, hence why you can't have FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet).
However, the good thing is that and when it's available you would be piped up with FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) which is a lot better and steadier than most FTTC connections will provide, including better ping rates, speeds etc.
Since the Infinity rollout is mainly concentrated on the FTTC rollout, people who are directly fed won't see any speed differences for a while.
