Hi all,
I could do with some advice! I had a mishap when i first joined BT - ordered it to a similar number on the street. It's now been resolved, but my new service has started and the speeds are about a tenth of the speeds advertised from the initial property. I have since looked, and I did receive updated speed guarantees based on the correct property (3-7mb), which I should have checked. I'm shocked that there is such a disparity in line speeds based on distance from the exchange - we're only around 30 houses down (from the initial property quoted).
Has anyone been able to improve speeds (we are not eligible for fibre) and if so, how easy was the cancellation/switch? Or is it pointless as BT manages the exchanges anyway? Just so disappointed that they would offer such a slow service for the same cost. I realise I should have double checked when I was re-ordering, but I did not think it would be such a huge difference.
Many thanks for listening to my gripes,
Jamie

Post hub stats. If hh5 then troubleshooting then helpdesk

Unfortunately I don't actually use a landline - will have to grab one.

As you can see from results you are on adsl because your cabinet has a waiting list for fibre connection. You just need to keep checking and when you see available then contact BT to upgrade to fibre
is ther anything in notes about openreach upgrading cabinet
