The reason I ask this is because lately I have noticed that my Broadband speed goes down from a consistant 8 meg speed to a crawl during peak hours. Obviously can't give you a test result at the moment but I thought I would ask this and then post my speeds later on this evening.
BT manage p2p during peak ours unless you are on the totally unlimited contract taken out since feb 2013 run glasnost test and that will tell you if you are being managed http://broadband.mpi-sws.org/transparency/bttest.php
I'm not using P2P BBC Iplayer for example with go down to 64KBs or lower for example.
The software doesnt seem to want to run on my PC 😞 Got Java installed and click run and it says there is an error
there have been post saying there is a problem with the recent java update.
if it is bbc iplayer then bt will not restrict your speed - only p2p restricted from 4pm to 11pm and all weekend
Just seems a bit weird there is only a problem during those hours. So was just wondering if anyone else had a similar problem and whether there was a solution
this could be exchange congestion - is there anything shown here for your exchange http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/mso.php
I have not read any posts suggesting BT are restricting BBC iplayer at peak times - there would be an outcry if that happened
No no problems will check at peak times and get back to you with speeds etc. Thanks for your help so far
no problem can you run btspeedtester just now when ok as a reference point for later
