Hi. I was with another provider, got talked into joining BT mobile by saleswoman when I signed up for TV and home Broadband...... worst decision ever!
Not easy to work out how payments work. My 100GB didn't last long at all, maybe 16 evenings. Internet disappeared on me so had to go to Starbucks to top up..... topped up with a 15GB top up which cost the same or more as my monthly 100GB.... 15GB ran out in no time. Topped up again....didn't seem to work. Stupidly set a spending cap of £100 and then got rinsed for £90 in just 2 days. What is this BT network? It's all set up to rinse your wallet dry and take the internet away from you in an instant with no warning so you have to drive to a local starbucks with wifi to top up again and then get rinsed and repeated.
Anyway how do I get out of this before I am even poorer!
Do I just get a sim card from another provider and switch the number over? Thanks.
If you are out with the 14 day cancellation period then if you cancel contract by moving to another provider you will be charged cancellation fee for the balance of your contract term which could be expensive
Is there a way to cancel online, I am within the cancellation window.
This is ridiculous, BT have had me for £200 in no time whatsoever and they have ridiculous cancellation fees. Do you mean they will just charge me the cost of the whole of the contract term if I cancelled? this makes no sense. What is the point in cancelling?
Do you mean if say you are paying £20 per month contract, you would pay a £20 fee?
If you are still within first 14 days then you can cancel without cyclotron fees but if outside the 14 days then the cancellation fee is based on your monthly cost and length of contract remaing
You enter a fixed term contract and agreed to the T&C
Hi,
Got fed up with BT mobile and wanted out before I got anymore ridiculous charges. So I got a PAC Code and used it to switch to another network provider and gave the new provider this code, they have scheduled in to switch my mobile number from BT to them tomorrow (Wednesday)....
Now I am thinking this was a bad idea as I have now realised the switch will happen outside of the time limit for cancellation and therefore BT may or will charge me the full amount of my contract....
I tried to 'cancel the PAC code' on the BT website, under my account, but it just came up with a message saying it could not cancel it....
If the new provider switches the number from BT to them does that mean my contract with BT is cancelled automatically and they will pursue the full contract amount? or could I simply just get another PAC code and switch the number back to BT and carry on with my contract?
Thanks for your help.
That is whole point of contract which you and BT agree any provider with whom you take out a fixed term contract will charge you if you terminate your contract earlier if you do not pay then BT will take you to court to get payment
You get 30 days cooling off period with a BT mobile sim only plan, It's 14 days if you have a handset plan.
