Does the Home Hub 5 have Wi-Fi white list access control?

Hello, just had my fibre activated today, received the Home Hub 5 (Type A).

One feature I like on the TalkTalk Huawei Super Router (HG635) is that it can control added devices ability to connect. So if someone somehow got your Wi-Fi password or you wanted to stop a connection, they could only get a connection if I allowed it on the whitelist.

As I understand it, the HH5's access control only allows you to add devices to a list that controls what times they are blocked, but you can't block them for the whole day (00:00 to 00:00). Am I missing some options or is that just the way it is?

There is no MAC filtering facility on the home hub 5. If you wanted that facility you would have to connect a separate wireless access point which has that facility, and disable the HH5 wireless.

The alternative would be to use a different VDSL modem/router which has that ability.

MAC filtering is what you are looking for. It offers so little protection that it is effectively useless which is why it isn't used so much these days.
