Having connection issues for a game, tried to port forward but my ports are still closed. They asked me to check for a double NAT by using tracert and I got 2 private IPs on my first 2 hops which I've read means that there is indeed a double NAT. I only have 1 device (the smart hub type a) and I've tried putting it into DMZ but to no avail, what can I do?

No it doesn't. Is the second hop 172.16.12.xx, if so, that is the BT BRAS.
Post the tracert
No double NAT there.
Alright, seems I was wrong then, but my ports still aren't open even after port forwarding so what could be the cause of that?
Try turning off UPnP
Still closed.
The port will only be open when the application/game is running. How are you checking?
I was using https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ but I will try running the game and seeing if the issue is still there.
Issue still present.
