BT Engineer (wearing a Talk Talk ID card) visited today.
No problems found inside my premises but he swapped my MK3 faceplate for a MK4 one and left. He commented that he'd looked over our 14-day (I think he said) stats before visiting and the line is running fine with no significant errors etc. This is what I expected of the line although we are now sync'ed about 1mbps below the speed when he arrived.
He isn't able to initiate a reset so said he would escalate to Openreach who would no doubt want to send an engineer out as well.
@brummygit Ah you mean a qube engineer.
Yes, looks like it, similar dress and a plain white van.
Can't request a reset, can't investigate anything beyond the faceplate. Waste of time, cannot do anything you cannot do yourself.
Just noticed that the Mk 4 faceplate wasn't fully home. It's not secure and the front comes off with no force at all. It has no screws to hold it and the clips are not locating into the part behind. He hasn't re-jumpered my internal extension wiring to the customer side either.
What an absolute waste of time - he's left me in a worse position than before he arrived.
Hi @brummygit that's not good at all. I've sent you a Private Message with details on how you can get in contact with the mod team, if you'd like our help getting this sorted.
Thanks, will do.
These are the stats from my Smart Hub and you can see that when he left today I was sync'ed at 63591kbps compared to 65006kbps when he arrived. Additionally you can see that my previous syncs were consistent and the syncs today are pretty consistently lower. My precious upload is also slightly lower.
All syncs this evening are where I discovered the MK4 faceplate was loose - the last one was me powering down the router to try to secure it - I've ended up insulation taping it in plate at the moment.
