Re: Download speed stuck Advanced/Connection on HH5 page?

this is where the problem is and I can not look into it, my estimates are being reduced all the time to what openreach are restricting my download speeds by so it covers there backs, I don't care what my estimates say my connection is capable of more, they just hide behind the estimates so they have an answer to back them up, as long as they don't reduce me download speeds beyond the estimates then I have no say in it! but look I pay for a connection 40/10MB so I expect anything up to that mark not what openreach want to restirct it by just so they can cause me problems. I'm not stupid! My previous comments show everyting I say and is correct, Openreach know it, BT know it and I know it! but they want to continue playing silly buggers!

Re: Download speed stuck Advanced/Connection on HH5 page?

So you're saying that Openreach are restricting your speed by making your line more noisy?

Re: Download speed stuck Advanced/Connection on HH5 page?

There is no noise on the line, period I have tested it, somehow they are restricitng it I don't know how and I don't care how but its a fact! If there was a way i could do a proper full line test to the exchange with results I'm positive something would come back, I know it.

Edit:- You only have to look at my comment from yesterday with the speed results, it shows.

Re: Download speed stuck Advanced/Connection on HH5 page?

you can't necessarily hear the noise on the line that could be affecting your connection as it's at radio frequency which is not audible.

Re: Download speed stuck Advanced/Connection on HH5 page?

from reading your posts it appears you think that openreach have singled you out and are purposely restricting your connection speed or have I mis-read you posts?

Re: Download speed stuck Advanced/Connection on HH5 page?

I've just ran this test on my connection, I still believe its being restricted somehow:- http://www.measurementlab.net/tools/ndt

I got these results:-

Client System Details
OS data:: Windows 8.1, Architecture: x86
Flash Info: Version = WIN 15,0,0,189
The slowest link in the end-to-end path is a
10 Mbps Ethernet subnet
[C2S]: Packet queueing detected
[C2S]: Packet queueing detected
This connection is receiver limited 94.99% of the time ?
This connection is network limited 1.70% of the time ?
10 Mbps Ethernet link found.
Link set to Full Duplex mode
No network congestion discovered.
Good network cable(s) found
Normal duplex operation found.
Web100 reports the Round trip time = 40.36ms
the Packet size = 1452bytes
No packet loss was observed.
C2S throughput test: Packet queuing detected: 17.39% ?
S2C throughput test: Packet queuing detected: 17.39% ?
Web100 reports TCP negotiated the optional Performance Settings to:
RFC 2018 Selective Acknowledgement: ?
ON
RFC 896 Nagle Algorithm: ?
ON
RFC 3168 Explicit Congestion Notification: ?

Now according to the results my "This connection is receiver limited 94.99% of the time" and what does the rest mean?
