Ummm! it`s wierd, unless they have done something bad with the 2750n`s chipset or firmware since I got mine 4 months back.
One thing that is worth a mention,is that the 2750n sometimes arrives with the wrong power adapter [I got the NZ one instead of the UK one],the different adapters are shown in the manual and the wrong one might make the device overheat or something.?
I had a UK adapter with the same specs handy so I used that.
The adapter I mean`t is the 12v power supply adapter that plugs into the mains socket,it should have been in the box as part of the contents.
In the manual is a picture of what each countrys adapter looks like.
If you have the wrong one then the retailer or draytek should replace it with the correct one.
Who ever you buy it from has a duty to supply a UK power supply. I bought from Broadband Buyer who supplied the right part. Buying off ebay may be different but in theory the law applies to those traders as well.
The law gets suddenly very vauge very quick with private sellers.
If I buy something off eBay who is a company I get full legal protection including the distance selling regulations.
If I buy the same product off eBay who is Joe Bloggs as a private seller then you don't get a whole lot of seller protection. You have the final option of the courts but that isn't such a great safety net.
This is why you need to check if you are buying off a business or private seller.
where can you get a uk adaptor from ?
From my good friend at iwantrouters.com
They are official draytek sellers, and are very reasonably priced too (there are other retailers), but have a look at the link above.
If you have the wrong adapter, sadly you can`t just plug any 12v adapter into the device,as the amps and other ratings of the adapter must be right for the device.
I used my Belkin router power supply adapter, but checked that the output amps and other levels were correct first.
You should be able to email the retailer for the correct adapter [the UK one],and if purchased from another source,I assume that they must also have some address or email address to contact.?
The NZ one that I got with my 2750n worked, but it got hot very quickly due to not having the correct output levels.
In my case I am lucky enough to be an electronics engineer,so can adjust the levels myself, but that does not change the fact that the device [any device] should arrive with the correct power supply adapter.
