Dropping connection- orange/purple flashing


Our broadband has been dropping now 2-3 times a day for about 3 weeks. Sometimes it's for 5 mins, sometimes, as is currently the case, it's for more than 12 hours.

We have already had 2 engineers. The first decided it was a problem outside the property as I had been connected into the test socket for a week and the connection was down when he arrived. He couldn't do anything though so booked in another engineer.

The second engineer arrived when the connection was working. Unfortunately it was just my wife here and she wasn't sure on the details. The engineer decided to move and replace the master socket and that's it. Surprise surprise the connection is gone less than 24 hours later and this is the longest stint it's been down for in the whole 3 weeks.

Next engineer is booked in 1 week as we can't take much time off work.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Router log says the dsl connection is dropping over and over after just 14 seconds connected.

as you are still dropping connection from test socket then problem appears outside your home  currently is there a dial tone  if so try 17070 option 2  should be silent and best with corded phone

if you have extension sockets and you are using test socket then check there is no dial tone at any extension socket

unfortunately apart from that you need the next engineer visit
