I use BT YAHOO mail. I have just noticed that the oldest email retained in my account is 14 days old and each day those dated 15 days ago drop out. I used to retain emails going back many months. Can anyone tell me how I change this back?
Thank you.
Hi @peter14,
By any chance do you use an email client such as Outlook 2016?
If you do, take a look at the following link from Microsoft Email is deleted from server or duplicated in Outlook 2016 when downloaded using POP3
Thanks

Thank you for replying. Its good to know there is help somewhere. I am not very technically minded but I have checked my email and I use Windows Live mail 2012. Does this help?

Hello Daniel Apologies I gave you an incomplete reply. Firstly I have looked at the link and tested the version using a word document. My desktop uses Thunderbird for emails and the Microsoft Office version is 2013 with the word document showing a version of 15.0.5049.1000 (the desktop is three months old and originally came with Office 2016 which I had Microsoft remove). My laptop uses Windows Live Mail 2012 for emails and the Microsoft Office version is 2013 with the word document showing version 15.0.5049.1000. I hope you can point me in the right direction. Thanks Peter14
Hi, welcome to the forums.
Have a look at the settings in Thunderbird for the email address, Server Settings option - there's a tick box saying Leave messages on server, a box might be ticked saying For at most, and 14 days might be the default - if that second box is ticked, uncheck it.
