For some reason yesterday, when I sign in to my BT email, a series of random numbers are automatically added to my password, meaning it doesn't work. I have changed my password, but the same issue keeps happening. I cannot log in to my BT ID in order to get help.
I do not know what is causing this. Has anyone else had the same problem?
Of course, I may not be able to access any email replies...……...I can use Mail for W 10, but that is awkward to use.
Try a different web browser, as I see you are using Microsoft Edge at the moment.
Try Google Chrome.
Thanks, Keith - I'll give it a try.
That worked, Keith - thanks very much.
Do you know what the problem with Edge is? It has worked for quite a while quite well, until yesterday.

Try clearing out any cached Internet pages and saved form data. If possible that it may have been auto filling data into the password box, due to some form of data corruption.
Personally I think that Google Chrome is a better browser, especially if you have a Google account, as it can sync data between devices.
Well, Chrome worked for a whole day, but late yesterday, when I logged in to my email on Chrome, a set of random numbers was added to my correct password. When I initially click on my login details, the correct password (which is saved) shows - it is only when I click to actually login that the random numbers occur.
So now I have the same problem on Edge and Chrome. I have run all the maintenance programs and checked my hard drive.
Any ideas?
PS when I had an issue last year (not this one, but difficulties with BT email) I chatted to techs from both BT and Microsoft. Neither could deal with the problem and each blamed the other software. The issue eventually sorted itself out after a few days. I wonder if this glitch will do the same?
See my reply to pgbirtwistle's query currently at the top of the threads list. It's an annoying feature which hasn't been explained yet. Another reason not to use webmail I suppose. Prediction...….this will be a growing issue over the next few days/weeks.
I have the same problem, I have tied Firefox, Edge and Chrome, with the same result. I tried changing the pass word and it still does it. Occasionally it will do it whilst writing and email and then locking me out for 20 minutes.
I can usually get in to my emails by retyping the Password every time.
Rewriting the password has no effect - it simply adds the random numbers when I try to click login.
Spent an inconclusive period chatting to a BT tech yesterday. They promised to call me. The phone rang several times and each time I picked it up, the line cut off. I am not particularly pleased!
