Emails disappearing

Using email set up on old android  Lenovo tablet, perfect for 5 years but now emails come through then randomly disappear, sometimes even when reading them.  Return if refresh but having go do that numerous times for each message as they keep going.  Not all do it though.  Very hit and miss.   Are all there on web based version.  Using IMAP so not that.  Not doing anything different but been since BT email 'upgrade'.

Hi @DM13  welcome to the forum and sorry that you are losing your emails on the Lenovo tablet. 
As you are able to see the emails ok on webmail it could be an issue with the device.
Are you able to test on another device?
If not can you try uninstalling the App and installing it again to see if that helps?

Thanks for the reply.  Yes, did web chat with BT last night and think the issue is the tablet.  Using the email set up that is part of it, doesn’t seem to be listed in the apps.  Also wary of uninstalling in case lose old emails which I’ve deleted from webmail.  Going to buy another tablet and fingers crossed all will be well.

If you have emails that you deleted from webmail still showing in the email app are you sure you have the app set up as an IMAP account and not a POP3 account?

Thanks for replying.  Yes is set to IMAP.  Goodness knows what’s going on.  So random.  Some emails come through and stay, others come and go and stay after being refreshed, others have to refresh up to 12 times! At least accessing via webmail is working.
