Engineer missed appointment

4 weeks ago I placed an order for Fibre 2 to be installed, was given the date of 08/02/21 for an engineer to come out and install this for me.

However I recieved no phone call, sms or email to let me know that the engineer has decided not to come.
I'm so frustrated as I will have to wait another while for this and I had to book yesterday off work so I could stay in the house for the engineer to work.

I then rang around 16:00 and asked where the engineer is, I was told that he'd be there at 18:10. Ten minutes after the slot which was no big deal. However the time came and nobody arrived, I rang again and the woman on the phone and she told me that she will forward this to the specialist team or something to find out what happened.

All I wanted was Fibre 2 to be installed in a bedroom upstairs. I understand with covid having an impact and all that but a message would have been nice. All I got was an apology but a bit of information would have been nice. I've lost out on £95 from my shift so I could stay at home to allow the engineer to work.

Anyone else have this issue? Where do I go from here?

@mcguiganjosef

Welcome to this user forum.

Broadband is normally self install, unless you have paid extra for a special installation. The Openreach engineer would normally only visit the cabinet to connect your line up.

Do you already have a master phone socket in your house?

Re: Engineer missed appointment

Hi there,

Sorry I should have specified that I am getting a second line put into the house which requires an engineer visit. The original broadband is not working and having on-going problems which is being dealt with properly.

I purchased a second line for Fibre 2 so I can game and stream without suffering from poor bandwidth

Re: Engineer missed appointment

Hi @mcguiganjosef I'm so sorry to see the engineer visit was missed, I'll send you a private message so you can get in touch with the moderation team and we'll be happy to find out what's happening with your second line order.

Thanks
Neil
