Everytime YouView box gets turned off, it has to restart entirely and set up again.

Go to solution

Good Afternoon,

I have had this Youview box since 2016.

This last week every time it gets turned off, when we turn it back on it has to restart entirely i.e. Youview logo comes up, an instruction to wait while it loads etc. This is approximately 1-2 minute wait everytime.

Similarly the remote, has started operating intermittently. Sometimes only the power button will register with the Youview box, it ignores all other requests. This is not a battery issue having changed them today.

Thanks and Regards

Dan

Hi @RaptorRice

Advice and best options  will depend upon which box model it is and whether you have a current BT TV contract ?

Hi zulu17, so yes we have a current BT TV contract. The box model is: DB - T2200/BT/DF

Thanks for clarifying.

Which transmitter do you receive your Freeview signals from ?

I would be inclined to report the problem to BT as as BT TV fault. you could try a full factory reset of the box given that there are no recordings involved

Thanks for your response. I will try the factory reset in the first instance. Im not sure I understand the question regarding the transmitter!

@RaptorRice

When you say "turned off" do you mean powered off or just put into standby?

Not sure if the factory reset does the same as a Maintenance Mode reset but if you need help with that it's here

Yes just putting into Standby. Turning it off using power button on the remote control.

I factory reset about an hour ago, it has been stuck on "setting up tv services - we are setting up any channel subscriptions you've added" page for about 45 minutes.

How do I force it to get past this point?

Afternoon Gemma, the issue seems to have resolved itself via the factory reset.
