Hi All,
Noob here, so go easy! My exchange has just gone fibre, we were one of the lucky ones to get one of the 100 fibre slots! Our speeds were terrible at around 2mb for uploads. Since the upgrade, BT suggested we would get 36-54 mb but we actually get an average of 14.5 mb, the fastest was 15.21 mb. Clearly much less than expected. The connection has been live for 8 days, BT say give it 10 days as speeds may improve. From looking at other posts I need to post up some info, so here it is, does anything look odd, as I have no clue?
Any help/advice would be greatfully received

Did you order Infinity 1 or Infinity 2?
Where does the 100 fibre slots come from as there's no cabinet in use with so few connections?
It was self install and Infinity 1 upto 38 mb, the 100 slots came from a friend whos a BT engineer, the cabinet has 600 slots, only 100 are fibre in the initial rollout, so I'm told.
If self install are you connecting to test socket with a new filter? If do you have an SSFP?
That is an SSFP
if you have extension sockets in your home can you connect to the test socket behind detachable bottom plate to eliminate any problems with your internal wiring

pipincp. There is a dslam with low ports. all of them in fact if only 1 or 2 cards installed. ECI cards have 64 ports. With huawei depends on dslam type. could be a 24, 32, or 48 port variant.
Or, as they seem to have done in our village, not provided sufficient pairs in the tie cable between the copper and fibre cabinets. We were enabled just before Christmas, there was a huge rush for takeup (adsl is sub 1M here!!) and orders were stopped very quickly as capacity was used up. Last week they dug the road up between the cabs to (presumably) put an extra duct and cable in. Why they didn't pull a bigger cable in in the first place I don't know!
