Is there any news on when the "extra channels" will be available on youview ?
I'd quite like to know that as well. i figure it can't be too far away given that multicast is working and there is a channel 900 tester 🙂
The BT Sport channels are delivered over the internet, aren't they? So if they are working (the promos certainly are), then I assume that the extra IPTV channels will too.
Perhaps they are waiting to see how BT Sport fares first?
This is copied and pasted from the email I was sent on 14th June:
"...we wanted to let you know that the Extra Channels on YouView will only be available, along with BT Sport from August.
We want your TV service to be up and running before then so we have given you TV packages that will work now and on 1 August we will swap them over."
Apparently, this means that I am being billed for the "Essentials" package for the time being, but will be transferred to the "Essentials Extra" package on 1st August when the extra channels will be made available.
this is one of the reasons stopping me from purchasing a BT package
I would like the on demand shows but the only way to get them free at present is with a vision plus box package
otherwise its 50p a show with the youview box at the moment.
Im sure a few months back you could get a youview box with the on demand content as free with a package, but since they have added the extra channels they seem to have changed the packages
