Extra router as booster

Hi,

I've got an old linksys router that I want to put upstairs to boost the wifi signal.

The house has been wired with cat 5e so I can plug it into the wall and connect it straight into the BT router downstairs. I've tried following some examples on the net but am having no luck. Anyone got any ideas on what settings and info I need to adjust to get the 2nd router to act as a booster.

Thanks

Re: Extra router as booster

Just give it an address outside of the DHCP range of the hub and turn off DHCP. Set 192.168.1.254 as the gateway address and DNS. Connect the hub LAN port to a LAN port on the Linksys
