Extremely slow download speeds but normal upload

For the last month or so ive had stupidly low download speeds, causing lots of hassle and annoyance. Ive stuck with it hoping that it was just a phase and thought BT may have been doing something with the line or whatever but yet nothings changed. Ive done all the checks required but they still havent changed anything so thought id come here and ask. The router is plugged in to the main socket and has had the filtered changed a few times etc. My typical download speeds used to be around 350kbs but are now around 40kbs.

Hi you are in a banded profile due  number of disconnections this is normally released after 5 days of stable connection automatically however in your case it appears to have stuck I suggest you contact the forum  mods at this link https://bt.custhelp.com/app/contact_email/c/4951  They should be able to get this released for you they normally reply directly to you by either email or phone within 3working days they are a small UK based team of BT specialists who will take personal ownership of your problem until resolved
