FAULTY HOME HUB 5

Go to solution
Since day 1 I've been having trouble with my Home Hub 5.

This is now day 7 and I'm suspecting that there's something wrong with it.

BT has tested it remotely and can't find anything wrong with the line etc.

The HH5 fails to access webpages, I can't even access the HH5 directly via it's own IP address.

This problem has been getting worse over the last few days. It fails for hours at a time now. During these times neither wireless or Ethernet connections work. Even HH5's ports connecting my other PCs fail.

When it is working, the Internet speed is fine, I can also transfer data between my PCs. However I've had problems trying to use Remote Desktop. With my old router all my PCs worked.

The HH5 reports several errors:

Error code: ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE
Error code: DNS_PROBE_POSSIBLE
Error code: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET

These screens seem to be coming directly from the HH5.

Could this be HH5 at fault?

HH5 reports that it had a software update 1 day after I had it installed.

My HH5 is a "Type A" which according to reports I've read has reliability issues.

BT - I WANT THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED ASAP !

Send me another HH5 to eliminate the hardware.

Has anyone else had a FAULTY HH5?

Re: FAULTY HOME HUB 5

The Solution:

IP Address Conflict between the Home Hub 5 and my WS320 Wifi Repeaters.

I can't change either their IP Addresses!!

I've had to purchase Powerline Extenders instead.
