Re: FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7390

finally received my Fritz!Box today took me forever to get it to connent.

Tried using bthomehub@btbroadband.com as the username and left the password blank it showed as connected but the internet would not work.

I have then used my BT email address and password and it works perfect.

Re: FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7390

Glad you got it sorted.

All it needed with mine was bthomehub@btbroadband.com as the username.  and a blank password.

When you get a chance plug a phone into FON 1 or 2 and use the PABX facility.Set up CLIP in the menu, then See if you have the Caller ID show up on the phone and the fritz logs(that is if you have caller ID with BT). Interesting to see if it works for you.

Re: FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7390

Should be able too. Should just plug in as normal

The fritz can also be used as a base station for dect phones , so you don't need the master phone.

But you need to go into the admin pages and make sure clip is enabled for caller ID

Looks like you got a good line from the stats above.

Caller ID works on Voip no problems.

[edit] to use the phones you need both ends of the supplied Y shape splitter cable plugged in.

Re: FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7390

you can try a download of inssider2 for PC or istumbler for MAC users and then run it. This will then show you the broadcasting networks close to yours and their channels including your own. You can then enter your Routers admin pages and change your wireless channel to a free or less congested channel.

Google search inssider2 or istumbler

Thanks sohail579, Thanks but you just ruined my day.Smiley Sad

That goes someway to prove that its the quality of the line rather than the Fritzbox, which AVM suggest it could be.

[edit] Mind you, I should point out that I have not tried since the new profiles have come out.

Re: FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7390

Toekneem - Any ideas here ? I have a 7390 which will not connect to the Internet. Elevated to CEO office complaints handling team and exiting Berlin still works fine. Insistence that we use BT Broadband credentials as login for Broadband but does not recognise this and PPPoE errors message abound. Any ideas ?? Firmware update is next step but can't connect of course...

Re: FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7390

Hi.

Is this an Infinity connection.

Are you using the Fritzbox 7390 as the modem(not using the openreach Modem) if so have you set it :

  Connection

Specify how the Internet connection should be established.

Connecting to a DSL Line should be checked

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Account Information

Is account information required?

Yes

Enter the Internet account information you received from your Internet Service Provider.

User name :  bthomehub@btbroadband.com
Password
Password was either not needed or i used the spacebar once, cannot remember .
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Connection Settings

The connection settings are already set to the values used most often. You can change these values if needed.

Change connection settings
Internet Connection
Maintain permanently (recommended for flat rates) should be checked
VLAN Settings

Please note that a VLAN ID is required only in special cases. The required ID was supplied by your Internet Service Provider.

Use VLAN
VLAN ID 101
DSL ATM SettingsDetect automatically
Set manually VPI 1
VCI 32

Encapsulation

PPPoE should be Checked

The PPPoE check mark does dissapear, must be a bug after you hit Apply.

Make sure you :

Check the Internet connection after "Apply" has been clicked

Have you ever had the Fritzbox connected to Infinity or is this the first time.

[edit] What firmware is it on
