Hi we currently have the BT ftth service in our flat which is great,
in in the next few weeks we are moving to a house within the same development but this is showing up as ADSL only on the BT checker site. My understanding from the builder is all properties within the development are FTTH enabled. How can I best query this? As believe the info BT currently have is wrong.
we are currently mid way through our contact, if for whatever reason we cannot get FTTH and have to go with ADSL in the new property what are my options re contract?
Thanks for your help
Ollie
if new home is fibre enabled then check to see if there is an openreach modem fitted like the one you currently have
Hi there,
it it doesn't have one fitted as current occupants are running a standard talk talk service,
our current flat however also didn't have one fitted by default, we had to get it installed through bt
any more thoughts?
enter the new address and see what the dslchecker shows https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html
Thanks it comes up with the following...
doesn't appear any fibre available at that address

**bleep** that's annoying. Do you know what the BT policy is moving to ADSL half way through an infinity contract?
BT's policy is:
"If you move home within the UK, and let us know at least 14 days before you do so we will continue to provide your communications service by whatever technology is available at your new address in line with our home mover policy (available on www.productsandservices.bt.com/products/homemove) and the terms set out in the relevant service terms."
So they will switch you to whatever service is available. you won't be able to cancel without a penalty if you're within a minimum contract term.
Ok great thanks,
do you know if they adjust the cost to reflect what package they can supply?
