FTTP 900 Upgraded from 300 Speed Capped at 150Mbps

Go to solution

Have a BT Business FTTP connection which was upgraded from 300 to 900 a couple of days ago however the speed seems capped at 150Mbps.

Connection is ONT Huawei 1-port modem to a Ubiquiti USG-3P Security Gateway. This setup is for a small business wifi network hence the Ubiquiti hardware. The USG-3P is being used successfully in gigabit fibre connections and we've replaced the ethernet cables between the ONT and router to ensure that was not an issue.

We have previously have seen speeds up to 270Mbps on this connection however it appears the speed has been consistent at 150Mbps for a couple of months according to the hardware logs. The upgrade from 300 to 900 was completed on Wednesday.

Current speedtest results performed directly on the router are 150Mbps down and 140Mbps up.

Have an open ticket with BT but wanted to ask one here whether this sounds like the profile may be stuck or some other issue before organising an engineer.

Thank you.
