FTTP Fibre Package Upgrading

Decided to upgrade my fibre package from 50mb to 74mb.

Do I need to reboot my BT Home Hub 6 while waiting on the new BT Smart Hub 2 being delivered?

no  when update applied hub will reset itself

are you on FTTP or FTTC?

No, both hubs will work anyway.

The change in speed is simply a removal of a software limit, so provided your line is actually capable of the increase in connection speed, the change in profile will be automatic.

I assume you have checked beforehand, that your line is capable of connecting at a  higher speed, by  using the availability checker?

Yes I have FTTP with fibre line coming into the house and ONT installed last year.

No problem then, provided they send you the correct version of the Smart Hub 2, with the red WAN port.
