FTTP Problems - 0.86Mbps down

Sorry I wasn't around last night, did you both get a general slowdown or was there a difference ebwteen the speedtest.net results?

I was getting the same results from BTW as I did from Speedtest.net.

This evening though, speeds on BTW are all over the place - first test was 205Mbps, next was 258Mbps then 217Mbps, then 198Mbps.

Speedtest is giving equally odd speeds:

MK Server

1. 128Mbps

2. 237Mbps

3. 175Mbps

London Server (Namesco)

1. 179Mbps

2. 131Mbps

3. 147Mbps

The severe slowdown doesn't seem to have happened for a while, but speeds are far from consistent.

I'm down to 5-10 from a 80 connection. Thought sky on demand was doing poorly earlier. Did the btw speed test then and it all looked good.

I wasn't able to test when your speeds dropped, but right now I'm getting around 280Mbps.

Just ran a speed test at Think Broadband and got the following result:

Any idea why there is such a massive difference between the green TBB and yellow HTTP numbers?

I saw a post on another forum of another FTTP customer and both sets of numbers were all within 309-312Mbps.

Congestion on a single HTTP stream - could be throttling by the ISP, your browser, small RWIN on your TCP settings, anti-virus or firewall blocking.
Try another browser, try another PC.

Bt called today to say they've completely replaced the line card at the bradwell abbey exchange on fishermead. They believe this is the cause of the downstream speed problems.

Let's see, I've advised them I'd monitor it for a week.
