Re: Failed Recording

Wouldn't be the first time BTTV have been on Watchdog, just search You Tube!

As a matter of interest, I had a failed recording on the internet channels last night UFC Preview prog, juat after CHampions League final at 11pm on Sat May 26th. I have a thumbnail in m recording but says 'Failed to record' when you click on it.

@bobkon  Watchdog is currently off air until the autumn.  Not sure I can put up with failed recordings until then.

Watchdog miight be off air at the moment but the office will still be open. My BT tv contract is ending soon, not sure whether to renew if BT can not sort this out soon.

It’s strange how it doesn’t effect everyone, I’ve been using the UHD box for 2.5 years and only just had my first issues. And it was the first time I sent record request via the app. Other than that it’s been a solid box.

I can only assume trying to replicate and correct the issue is proving difficult.

I still think it is a strong possibility that those having problems are ones who have their boxes tuned into more than one transmitter.

Why does the Youview box allow that? All my other boxes and TV's allow manual tuning.

Re: Failed Recording

Most (but not all) of our recordings failed whilst away for a week. Using a YouView T2110 (but not a BT customer).

The successful recordings all seemed to be those that had been booked in as a "record episode" (rather than as a "record series").

The failed recordings all seemed to be those that had been booked in as a "record series" but had been working fine prior to our departure.

Seeing this on our return, the first thing done was to reboot the box. Following this, it was observed that "record episode" bookings still worked, but "record series" bookings were still failing. So the second thing  done was to scrub all the "record series" bookings and then create them afresh. This seems to have sorted things out. Did not do any resetting or retuning. No idea why this all started happening. YouView's explanation of what has caused the issue seems to have been mostly silence, from what I can see on their community.

Well I for one know that this scenario does not apply to me.  We use the same aerial for both Freeview and Youview.  I have no additional channels in the 800s and I have instances where our other PVRs have recorded the same programme without incident as the ones that failed via Youview.

The muxes we are recieving correspond exactly to the Sutton Coldfield transmitter.

No change there then.
