Failed Recording

Go to solution

Evening all.

I've had a couple of programmes on series record for a while now, one on Pick (freeview channel 11) and one on Home (freeview channel 25). It's all gone swimmingly until tonight when I noticed that the record light was not on - I turned the tv on & the box immediately started to record (I got the last 8 minutes). I then discovered that both programmes had failed to record yesterday and the day before.

Any ideas/solutions would be much appreciated.

When was the last time before that when you turned on the Youview box?

Re: Failed Recording

Same here, just started doing this 2 weeks or so ago, no probs for nearly 2 years really. But we've had 3 progs on Freeview - BBC1, and 2 on ITV all completely failed recently, and 1 on ITV that only recorded the last 18 minutes of a one hour prog. Any thoughts anyone?

Re: Failed Recording

I'm having the same problem, recordings scheduled on freeview channels failing completely when the box is in standby. If the box is left on the first scheduled recording works, but then the box goes back into standby at the end of the recording and later recordings don't work unless I manually turn the box back on. Recordings scheduled on the internet channels seem to be working ok, and if one of those is scheduled for the same time as a freeview recording both work as the box comes out of standby for the internet channels as it's supposed to.

I've tried updating the software, retuning the channels and doing a factory reset but none of those helped. The problems definitely not on my end as swapping out the youview box for an older dvr showed that my signal strength is fine as recordings worked perfectly on the non-bt box.

Mods / Experts - any thoughts on this problem please? It's happened again twice this week to me - really annoying.

Just to add to the list of failures, had it happen on Ch4HD a week ago for the F1 coverage.

Re: Failed Recording

I had a similar issue a while ago. I completed a factory reset and selected the 'delete recordings' option. It has worked fine ever since.

Did you select this option? Also, I would recommend going through the buttons on the box rather than going through the on-screen menu.

This talks you through it.
