Faulty Sim ?

I am running  an HTC m8 phone and have recently changed from O2 to BT.

I am now unable to receive  2/3 or 4Gb. 

My phone settings are set to select automatically  either of the above 

I can make and receive calls quite happily. 

But what to do next ?
