Fed up of capped speed

No change whatsoever on test socket.

Been with BT for 8 months (was on Sky ADSL previously). The estimated speed was 32 mbps.

 But was that the guaranteed speed as I would expect the figure to be lower than your bottom estimated figure or at least others are always lower than bottom estimated speed

Estimated speed was 32 Mbps (the one in big shiny letters).

The guaranteed speed was 18 Mbps (in small print).

So your current connection speed is well above the guaranteed level. That can make it a bit more difficult to encourage BT to investigate the line condition.

BT can run a line test from their end and see if it reports any problems. There is also a BT online self help process where it will try some basic tests and raise a fault if it finds one.

You might just need to initially wait a few more weeks and see if the band is changed to a higher one by the DLM. See if you then at least connect at 31/32.

Funny thing is I was on a 33, until something happened whilst I was on holiday which brought it down to 27. That's why I'm more annoyed really.

The attenuation looks higher than normal and the SNR is 9 dB so there is room for improvement

Can you run the btwholesale speed test and see what is the IP profile that shows?

Interleaving suggests the connection is reacting to errors of some sort. What make is the cabinet if you know?

The wholesale test is pointless, we already know the IP profile will be 96.79 or 96.89% of 27400 depending whether or not G.INP is active on the circuit.

The SNR margin being above the normal 6dB will be as a result of the connection speed band limit, and hence connection speed, being well below the max attainable.

The max attainable will also probably vary a bit over a day so might show 33 at a different time.

96.79% or 96.69% (not 96.89%) according to Kitz and one or two other sites. So slightly lower with G.INP.
