Hey everyone hope all are well and safe,iv recenty upgraded to the fibre 900 and im getting massive fluctuations in my connection speed upload always stays consistand at about 113Mbs but the download is anywhere from 85 - 850ish i can run a test and get 850, then re run the same test it will come back fith 400 then 85 so on so on, has anyone else had these issues iv seen theres some throttleing issues with the Smart Hub 2? iv tried resets everything i can think off is there any special setup settings etc?
I've had this problem since day one too !
After many tests and referrals to "2nd" level support I've been told the issue is a combination of the SH2 and a form of throttling to ensure stability which kicks in as a result of performance issues within the SH2.
The only fix the engineer I spoke to was new hardware required as the SH2 is currently unable to support a Full Fibre 900 connection consistently.
This is the reason when 3rd party routers are not affected.
I've since dropped down to Full Fibre 500 whilst they sort it out and might consider an "upgrade" when they have a new router available.
What speed are you getting on Fibre 500 I’m only getting 350-400 on Wi-fi next to the router. On tie old 200 one I was in we got bang on 200.
Its this issue that it was designed to fix.
My fibre 900 regrade went live today. Only got the advertised speeds after resetting. Getting 900 down and 115 up on both SH1 and 2. Got 660 down and 115 up on Wi-fi on my iPhone
upgraded today but seems my download is throttling goes from 500-800. tried on smart hub 1 and 2 with Ethernet cable plugged in.
also not showing my order is complete either. i was told they had to plug my cable into a new 500-1gb "racking" at the exchange. i'm hoping they bumped me up on the system but i'm not on the new racking yet.
I will power off the ONT and HUB tonight when I sleep and ring up in the morning if no improvement.
Do you think it's the smart hub 1+2 causing this and worth investing in a new router?
@Fozzee - I am only getting 250 maximum when sat with a device (S10+ or MacBook Pro) almost touching the router. If I ethernet in I get 499, so the issue I am having appears to be the WiFi with the router.
Phoned again last week and they said they'd send me a new router replacement as they couldn't diagnose an issue (lost count of amount of times I had to explain I don't have a problem between the local hub/cabinet and my house). Still no new router though and no sign one is on the way and they closed the fault.
Before the upgrade went live I got 145 from the exact same router (had Smart Hub 2 already) on a 150 plan, so something isn't right in what they have done.
Frustrated to say the least.
