Re: Fibre 900 - speeds all over the place

Same here. I was upgraded at midnight. Highest I have seen is 690ish. I’m using a 3rd party ASUS ZenWiFi AX. Tests done with gigabit wired connections and tested on 2 devices to rule out a client issue.

Re: Fibre 900 - speeds all over the place

All depends where you're running the tests too, speed tests also depend on infrastructure between you and the Speed test server.

Can you post some tests from fast.com? I've found it to be pretty reliable for speeds always in the 900Mbps + range for me.

Re: Fibre 900 - speeds all over the place

I can only run tests on fast.com from my iPhone 11 Pro. It’s connected to an AX router via WiFi 6. Speeds are erratic - 350, 480, 330

Most weird.

Unfortunately tests need to be done via a wired connection also. Wireless whether it be WiFi 5 or 6 is never reliable.

My wired tests are to Speedtest - they are all over the place too. Tested from my UnRaid server and also using the Speedtest app on a wired Apple TV

Re: Fibre 900 - speeds all over the place

I did a factory reset of my Asus ZenWifi AX and also cycled power on my PON.

All is fine now. Consistent 910Mbps/110Mbps speeds via a wired connection.

Re: BT Fibre 900 Upgrade / Smart Hub 2 upload throttling

Having exactly the same issue. Upgraded from 250 to 900; UL is always c120mb, but DL never pushes c310mb. The BT speed tester created a fault, but so far they've been unable to fix it.

I have tried the following:

Reboot: No difference
Firmware update: No difference
Hard reset of SH2: No difference
PPPOE: No difference

In all above instances, UL remained c120mb and DL never breaches 310mb.

Would be really useful if someone from BT can comment on here to fix the problems. It appears the majority of existing customers, who have upgraded are still profiled on their existing plans.

Re: BT Fibre 900 Upgrade / Smart Hub 2 upload throttling

Is this via a wired or wireless connection? Because if it’s via wireless then unless you have a WiFi 6 enabled wireless router and a WiFi 6 capable device you won’t see much faster than that via WiFi.

im on the 900/120 package myself and get the around the same results via WiFi but as soon as I use a wired connection I get a solid 890/120.

its simply that the current SM2 can not achieve speeds of up to 900mb via wireless as it’s not WiFi 6 enabled, you would need a 3rd party router from Asus or Netgear to achieve anywhere close to advertised speeds.

you’d think that before BT released such packages they’d have the hardware to match also available but it seems not.
