Fibre available to neighbours but not me

Hi everyone,

I've noticed that fibre broadband is unavailable in the property I'm moving to. "When can I get fibre" tool says "Your cabinet is enabled for Superfast fibre however you're not able to order fibre just yet.
This might be because the length of the line is too long to get Superfast speeds. We're actively looking at other options."

Interestingly though, it is available in two other flats in the same building (there are 6 flats in total) and in all 6 flats in a new building right next to mine which was completed only a few weeks ago (the one I'm moving into was completed a year ago).

Both buildings use the same exchange, and my flat is right in between the two flats with fibre on the other side of my building and the other development next to mine where everyone has fibre connection.

I'm really baffled and annoyed by that, and the fact I need to wait up to 28 days on Openerach to respond to my query. I tried phoning them but couldn't get to speak to human.

Any thoughts/advice/help would be much appreciated.

Hi @jacas,

Does your new address have an active telephone service? If so can you put the number into the BT Wholesale Availability checker and post back the results?

Please make sure to remove the telephone number before posting back.

I don't know the landline phone number as I've only just moved in and I'm waiting on landlord to get back to me with this information, however I used the Address Checker from the link you provided and this is the result I got:

Untill you get a working phone line number, the database results will not be accurate as they do not reflect the actual routing of your line.

cab 25 is directly accross from Polton Ave Rd on grass verge  it did have a waiting list but that may have gone noe virgin in the area

how close are you to that cab location

@imjolly I live near Lasswade High School. I've seen there's Virgin in the area but not (yet) on my street, so I'm quite desperate to get fibre from BT, just like my neighbours can, or else I'm stuck with rubbish broadband for probably a long time

you are not that far away from cabinet but far enough you won't get max speed

you must be unlucky as virgin have virtually covered the whole area recently
