Hi there. I am getting a BT FTTP connection into my home. I understand that there will be a box (ONT) in the house near the BT Hub router. I am thinking of taking fibre to other access points in the house both for wired connections to PC and for WAPs. Can I connect fibre to the ont or do I have to go to normal Ethernet cabling inside the house? New to all this. Many thanks
The only thing you can connect to the ONT is the hub or a router of your choice. Any connection elsewhere in the house would have to be either ethernet or wireless. Obviously ethernet is the better option. You can add as many mulitiport switches or WAP's on the way as you need.
Thank you so much. That’s very helpful.
