Given the number of Vision customers still waiting for black box updates, should we really be surprised.
Well, yes we should as this is a YouView update, which should come direct from them. Talk Talk have their own box, and it appears with customisations unique to them, but as far as I am aware, our box is generic.
IIt seems the EPG will still not be searchable, so I am not desperate to get the "upgrade" anyway.
Agreed SRB - the lack of any comment from BT suggests to me that it is not imminent. Hope I am wrong.

Well maybe you don't but I do as I want the advertised Dolby Digital by S/PDIF to work and it is included in this update.
The box has a DD logo on the front and it is advertised on Youview's and BT's website and that it didn't work on release was a bit silly.

The generic boxes would hardly have the BT logo on the menu. When I first got the box there was no vision player, to access it you had to press the bt logo, then suddenly follwing a "players update" the vision player appeared alongside the others.
The box is the same YouView box as you can buy off the shelf. The YouView software is the same that you get if you bought the box off the shelf. Because we are on BT Broadband and have subscribed to their service, the box detects that and shows the BT logo on the menu. The Player is BT specific, but the YouView software is the same as everyone else's. How else can people buy the box themselves from a shop and access the BT content?
